I love the Villeneuve-lez-Avignon brocante and find it a must see on trips to Provence. I find the quality and variety of wares very good and at the same time it's atmosphere is warmer and friendlier than some of the others I have visited.
I have visited the.Carpentras market. It was where I made a horrible mistake when asking a vendor for a price on a beautiful ceramic pitcher. He answered “Cinquante” and I heard it as “Quinze” I began to purchase it and when I realized my error I said “Oh non, c’est trop cher pour moi”. The dealer was very unhappy even though I apologized. From there on I always ask them to write the price on a piece of paper so there are no more misunderstandings.
I know quite a few people who have mistaken the amounts. You are not the first and you won't be the last! Of course there are some notoriously grumpy vendors. I think its part of the whole experience too!
I’m obsessed with vintage and brocante markets, especially in France. I’d love to visit all of these one day, until then I’m forced to make do with the lesser good ones in Holland. 😅.
Of all the myriad beauties your home has to offer, the brocantes are one of the things I’d most like to experience but haven’t yet! What a lovely commission!
Matt I would be absolutely delighted to show your the brocantes in the South of France. There is always room if ever you want to take a trip down South with your family x

We are lucky here. I am sure you must find good things in Holland.
Great pleasure, springtime is coming!
Will we see you this year in Provence?
