A Photographer that I Love #01

It’s a very wet, very windy, grey day here in Provence. I feel that I say that more often than not at the moment. We are having a lot of rain or at least it feels like it.
So I wanted to start a small series of ‘ Photographers I love or admire’. We have over at
encouraged our group to learn and follow other photographers. Although I mainly work in the field of Interiors, I love the work of Fashion Photographers immensely.I have a library of books on Photography, Design, Interiors and Travel. It’s important to study the greats. Aim high. Don’t look sideways look up. I have become a better photographer because I read/look at other photographers.
One of my all time favourites and a photographer I go back to time and time again, is the legendary Tim Walker . I just LOVE his work and his imagination and if I need a boost of creativity, I turn to him. It’s part of my Britishness: the eccentricity, the quirkiness, the outrageous, the imaginative, the whimsical.
If I could emulate just a little bit of this in my personal work I’d be happy. I don’t have the same budget or indeed a team to help me, but I have ideas that I would like to try out. I need the time to put them in place but one day I will and with a creative husband as I have, I’m sure he can help make it a reality.
I love pouring over his books and on a grey, wet day like today. It’s a perfect way to disappear into another world of fairy tale, make believe and escapism. Something we may all need at the moment.
I have also decided to start my own visual diary inspired by Tim Walker. A way I hope that will help me put down my ideas that I can eventually turn into photographs. In any case, something to look back at later on. I don’t know why I haven’t done this before.
